Terms of service
Last updated: 8 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and us about using SEO Optimizer. We have kept them as short and plain as we can. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. Please read them together with our privacy policy.
Who we are
SEO Optimizer (dboseo.com) is a product of DatabaseOnline and SQLTreeo. It is provided by Databaseonline B.V., Kade 28, 4703 GG Roosendaal, The Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce number 30171190). In these terms “we” and “us” mean Databaseonline B.V., and “you” means the person or company that creates the account.
The service is meant for business and professional use. By signing up you confirm that you use it for your business, trade or profession and that you are allowed to accept these terms for the company or team you name.
The service
You add your website and, if you like, the websites of your competitors. We read their public pages, calculate scores, compare your website with the competitors and give you advice on what to change to be found better in search. We can also search the web for competitors you may not know and e-mail you reports.
- We only read. We never change anything on any website, and we never ask for access to your website, hosting or CMS. You make the changes yourself.
- Advice, not promises. The advice, scores and expected effects are information to help you decide. Search engines decide rankings, and many things you and we cannot control affect them. We do not promise any ranking, traffic or sales. The on-page score is our own measure of the things we check; it is not a score from Google or any other search engine.
- Public pages only. We read pages that anyone can open, politely, and we follow the
robots.txtof the websites we read. See “Our crawler” in the privacy policy.
Your account
- Give us correct details and keep them up to date. You sign in with a link we e-mail you, so keep your mailbox secure.
- You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including API keys you create. Tell us promptly at info@databaseonline.nl if you think someone else has access.
- You may only add e-mail addresses as report recipients if you are allowed to. Each recipient has to confirm, and can unsubscribe at any time.
Using it fairly
You may use the service for your own websites and for the websites of your clients, and you may add any public website as a competitor. You agree not to:
- use the service to attack, overload or harass a website, to look for security weaknesses, or to collect personal data;
- try to get around limits, rate limits or protections, create accounts by script, or share your account in a way that avoids paying for more websites;
- break the law, infringe other people’s rights, or interfere with the working of the service or the data of other customers;
- copy, resell or republish the service itself, or build a competing service from it. Using your own results in your work for clients is fine.
If you break these rules we can limit or suspend your account, as described under “Ending the agreement”.
Plans and payment
- Plans. There is a free plan and there are paid plans (Starter, Pro and Agency). What each plan includes, such as the number of websites, pages, competitors and competitor searches and how often a website is re-checked, is shown on our website and in your account. Prices are shown before you subscribe.
- Paying. Paid plans are subscriptions that you pay for in advance through our payment provider Stripe, and that renew every month until you cancel. VAT is charged where the law requires it and is shown at checkout or on your invoice. We never see your card number.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time under “Manage billing” in your account. The plan then stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund periods that have started, unless the law says we must.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails we, or Stripe, will try again for a while. If the subscription ends because it is not paid, your account returns to the free plan.
- Limits. If your plan allows fewer websites than you have, for example after a downgrade, the oldest websites keep running and the others are paused until you upgrade or remove websites. We apply the limits of your plan when an analysis starts.
- Price changes. We can change prices and plan contents. A change does not affect the period you have already paid for, and we tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next period.
License keys
Besides subscribing, you can get a plan with a license key that we, or a partner we work with, give or sell to you. You activate a key in your account. It then gives your account the plan it stands for, for the period it is valid, and a key can only be used by the number of accounts it was issued for. A key is meant for the account that activates it and may not be resold afterwards. Entering a second key of the same plan before the first has ended adds the new period. When a key ends your account returns to what it had without it, which is a subscription if you have one, or the free plan. We can withdraw a key that was obtained or used in breach of these terms, for example after a chargeback or abuse; the account then loses the plan the key gave it.
Your data
- You keep all rights in your websites and your content. You give us permission to read the websites you add and to process the results in order to provide the service to you.
- How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.
- You can delete a website, with its analyses, at any time. To delete your account, write to us. See the privacy policy for what happens to your data and for how long we keep it.
AI features
Some features, such as finding competitors and suggesting titles and descriptions, use artificial intelligence provided by Anthropic. The suggestions are generated automatically and can be wrong, out of date or unsuitable for your business. Always check them before you use them. Competitor suggestions come from a web search and are checked to be live websites, but we cannot promise that they are your closest competitors.
Our rights and yours
The service, its software, scores, texts and design belong to us or our licensors. While your account is open you may use the service, and use the advice and results it gives you, for your business and your clients’ websites. You do not get any other rights in the service. If you give us feedback, we may use it to improve the service without owing you anything.
The service works with third-party services such as Stripe and, if you connect them, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools and Yandex Webmaster. Their own terms apply to your use of them.
Availability and changes to the service
We work hard to keep the service running, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that it is always available or free of errors, and we sometimes need to take it down for maintenance. We may improve, change or remove features. If a change takes away something paid plans clearly include, we will tell you in advance and you may cancel.
Liability
- We are liable for damage that you suffer because of our fault, within the limits of this section.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, such as lost profit, lost revenue, lost traffic or lower rankings, or for decisions you take or changes you make to a website based on our advice.
- Our total liability under these terms, for all events in a period of twelve months, is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the first event. For the free plan this is zero.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or deliberate recklessness, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service at any time: cancel your subscription, delete your websites and, if you like, ask us to delete your account. We can suspend or close an account, after warning you where that is reasonable, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if you do not pay, or if we need to in order to protect the service or other people. We can also end the free plan or the service as a whole with at least 30 days’ notice. When the agreement ends your access stops, and we delete your data as described in the privacy policy. The parts of these terms that by their nature continue to apply, such as those on liability and the law, continue to apply.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when the service changes. We tell you in the app or by e-mail at least 30 days before a change that matters takes effect. If you keep using the service after that date you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, you can cancel before then. The date at the top shows when the terms were last updated.
Law and contact
Dutch law applies to these terms and to the service. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands in the district where Databaseonline B.V. is established, unless the law says otherwise. If a part of these terms turns out not to be valid, the rest stays in force.
